I got a tetness shot last Wednesday, and it hurts really bad.  The doctor told me that it would hurt a little, as if I pulled a muscle.  Also where the needle was injected, it has a really hard spot. And within the area where I got the shot it warm. Any ideas on what is going on?????

You can take aspirin or something like it.  You can put a hot pad or hot water bottle on  the hard spot.  Also massage the area around the spot lightly with your fingers.  The point is to help your circulation move through this area again.  You can also try alternating hot and cold on it.  See which feels better to you.  Cold may numb it better.  Even if you just use a wash cloth with hot or cold water, it will help.  



Having this reaction to a tetanus shot is normal.  The experience is much easier than risking tetanus!
