Co-codamol is available in 2 forms Paracetamol 500mgs codeine 8mgs and  Paracetamol 500mgs codeine 30mgs. Unfortunately most studies suggest that at best both are only 5% more efficaceous as an analgesic than paracetamol alone, however side effects are increased depending on how much codiene is present. These include headche, abdominal pain, constipation and the most incidious of all, addiction!

Patients who have been taking codiene based analgesics for any period of time feel worse without them and feel that other, non-codiene drugs are less effective. This is in fact due to the feelings of unwellness they get as withdrawal syptoms from the codiene, rather than a lack of potency of the alternative drug.

Hi codiene is what is in Co Codamol but in cocodamol there is also paracetamol, codiene is the other ingredient in it.

It will probably work well if you can take co-codamol I cannot take it as it makes me drowsy so probably if I just took codiene I would be knocked out for a week rather than cocodamol which is paracetamol as well which doesnt give me no side effects.

So yep it will work just as well.

Yes, they are almost the same. Co Codamol is a combination preparation of Codeine & paracetamol. They have almost similar effeciency & mainly used for moderate level pain.
