Bee sting on my eyelid, HOW CAN I GET THE STINGER OUT?

Bee sting on my eyelid, HOW CAN I GET THE STINGER OUT?

I got stung by a sweat bee on my eye lid and the stinger is still stuck in there,

What can I do to get it out? It's starting to blur my vision on that side.

get a piece of tape or a band-aid and use the adhesive to pull it out.

My mother told me long ago to never use tweezers. The best way to get a stinger out is to use a plastic credit card. You scrape the card over the stinger and it eventually releases itself. Since this is on your eyelid, I would think your fingernail would work. I also recently read that as soon as you get a sting to put a penny on it. It takes the swelling down almost immediately. Why this happens, I can't remember, but I will search for that article and post it if I can find it. Squeezing usually pushes the stinger down in further.

Sorry it's before coffee for me. When you scrape make sure it's in the same direction.

Wow - that's an unusual place, I did get it one on my forehead once...anyhoo I digress...

Have you tried a good pair of tweezers, sometimes a nail cutter can work as effectively if you don't press down to hard.

If it is really affecting your vision then I think you need to visit a doctor.

You could just get someone to take it out with a tweezers but the eye area is especially sensitive and prone to infection so if I were you I would go to a doctor or optician as soon as possible.

Don't take any chances with your sight!

the second you get this have someone take you to the er do not call 911 they wont do anything and it will take longer aska neighbor or someone that can drive and lives with you

Have someone pull it out with tweezers or go to the E.R. they should be able to get it out for you. But you want to take care of it soon before it becomes infected.

dont use tweezers!! it squeezes the venom out of the stinger.  i hear the best way to get it out is to scrape it a with your fingernail

Have you tried a pair of tweezers? Personally, I recommend seeking medical help. Your sight is very important, take no chances.
