I just walked in the door from going over to my neighbors home, i walked through our yard through a black pit (accidently) that we have in the middle of our yard from a tree that has just been dug out. I felt a sharp pain moments after leaving our yard (the end of the yard is only about 2 yards away from the pit) and stopped on the side of the road to look at the bite. It looked red and hurt but i shook it off, walked to my neighbors and back, around the pit and back into the house. i sat down, the bite hurting again and my mom got out the tweezers thinking it was a thorn or beesting and she tried to tweeze whatever there was out of it. Nothing happened so we decided to wait. There is now a large circle surrounding the bite and it is pussy, red, and a little swollen. I need to know.....

1.) whether or not it is a brown recluse bite

2.) If i am safe to go swimming in the next 2 or 3 days

3.)if i need to go to the doctor.

4.) if i am overreacting

You should call your doctor's office and re-tell what you just have here. I don't know if it's a brown recluse bite, but that kind of reaction is definitely unwanted.

If you can't wait to go to the doctor, take a trip over to WalGreens and have a pharmacist take a look and maybe they can recommend a cream to you. They aren't doctors, but they are familiar with common things such as bites.

You're not over-reacting. Just take care of it... put ice on it to reduce the swelling and keep it clean until you get professional assistance.

I would avoid swimming, since you have an open wound and there are lots of germs in pools. Let's not make it worse. : /

Recluse spiders are aboutthe size of a dime up to a half-dollar.  The female can be a bigger, some have a violin shaped marking on their body and are a tanish color.



If you are concerned go to the doctor and tell him you may have bitten by a brown recluse spider, spider bites are nothing to play with.



Ask your doctor if it is alright to go swimming, and you are not overreacting.

go to the doctor. better safe than sorry you want to make sure wether or not it is a browm recluse bite, if it is one than you will get a huge sore and it wont be fun.

Um arent brown recluse bites fatal?

go to the doctor- it might be a spider bite!(poisonous)
