My 8 year old son, has a scar inside his eye lid that seeemed a bit red so i took him to our GP who gave him chloramphenicol ointment to use for 5 days, i may have accidentally used a bit too much as it came out fast, anyway after stopping using it 2 days later his eye appeard pink! it looks as though he has extra red veins in his eye. This has been like this for over 2 weeks now and it has not got any better even though our GP has given us some eye drops to use for allergies. Will this ever go or is it permanently damaged?

if i were you i would take him back to your gp

you are worrying your self unnecessarily and it could be something minor that will be cleared up in days

if you are concerned the eye drops are causing added irration i would stop putting it into his eye

boil water,cool until barely warm and bathe it two or three times a day

he may have rubbed his eye in his sleep and that would cause the redness that looks like another vein

Dont worry your a good parent. You just aggitated his I like when you get poked in the eye and it hurts, butsoon enough it will go away.

He has pink eye and get to another doc not the quack you went to.  Save the papers because you will need them

It is probably just a reaction to the ointment!

It should go away after a while with the eye drops!!
