Did you try to shave? A lot of times if you have sensitive skin, shaving can cause irritation and ingrown hairs. If you must shave (which I don't recommend because the hair is there for a reason and taking it away is asking for trouble) use shaving lotion and make sure you use a fresh, sharp razor. Genital herpes is transmitted by mouth to genital or genital to genital contact, so if what you are saying is true there is no chance that you have it. Tell your mom. First of all, it is nothing to be embarrased about (give it another few years and some OB/Gyn visits and you'll be over it, I promise). Secondly, your mom has had a vagina for a very long time. She is a great source of information when your body is doing something odd and she will be your #1 go to person for answers as you go through puberty (or at least she should be). I promise, neither your mom or a doctor will laugh at you or make you feel bad. They both are there to help you. There are over the counter vaginal infection tests that your mom can get you if it's not razor burn or ingrown hairs so you can get treatment (you can't treat a problem if you don't know what it is) and in general you get vaginal infections from heat, other medications/conditions that lower your ability to fight them off and tight clothing, not just sex.
