What can i do to stop discharges?

for the past 2 months i have been having a strange discharge which changes from being clear to whiteish, yellowish to greenish with a slight odor.. i am 19 yrs old and sexually active... on my last visit to my doctor a month ago i was told that i have an infection (and it was not an STD) was given some antibiotics to take for a day ...  i did not work so decided to go to a pharmacy and expalin my symptoms and was told that i have a yeast infection.... i was given a 3 night cream to insert and stayed away from sexual activity for 1week seeing no change right after using the cream i ahd my period which lasted for 5days today is my 6th day (of my cycle) and am seeing signs of the discharge still there.... am afraid to go a doctor again and even more scared to tell my boyfriend just yet unitl i know whats wrong... can you help me?

canestan oral my friend.. get it from the pharmacy immediately it works much better then the creams.. it sounds like you have recurring thrush. this often occurs in some women around the time of ovulation or menstruation, if you are diabetic when their are alot of sugars around or if you are overweight.. good luck!

thanks for the advice but i am stil kind of lost what do i do ... just don't have intercourse ? how will i find out the culture of the discharge? what medication should i take???

It does sound like a yeast infection, or vulvovaginal Candidiasis, and there are some over the counter medications that help solve the problem, however it appears that you need a stronger medication.  Dyflucan is probably what you had as a one day dosage, and you may need to have a culture of the discharge to find the correct medication, do NOT have sexual intercourse during this infection, it will only complicate the treatment, and infect your partner.
