Omg!!! so my husband is in the Army and right now he is in North Carolina in the middle of the woods doing training. i got a call from him this morning saying that he had gotten bitten by a tick on  his privates, the medics took it out and everything, but im really worried, cuz dont ticks carry all kinds of diseases?? like the lyme disease and stuff.. can someone please help me and tell me what is the worst that can happen when you get bitten by a tick? and is it curable? t

my brother is in the marines and right now is in DC on a base. but ticks can carry a disease called limes disease, but they would've mentioned it! limes disease is cureable, it takes about two weeks to clear up completely. my cousin just had it! but if it gets into your blood stream its deadly, im going to guess that he didnt get bitten by a tick with limes disease, because they would've mentioned it, and if he did get bitten by it, it isnt deadly, its just like having a cold.

My brother is a Marine stationed in NC, Camp Leguene, He was saying that deers carry the lyme disease, so when a tick bites them the tick gets infected, if that tick bites a person than yes you could catch lyme disease... he said its very rare though cause once you get bit by a tick that is carrying the lyme disease, he wouldve known. So if your husband is find, then dont worry about...Mr brother got bite more 15 times by ticks because of the training out there and its all woods....

The main concern with a tick bite is lyme disease.  It is uncommon however, and easily treatable.  The only way it is any threat is if a person neglects to seek professional medical attention and the disease goes unchecked into later stages of development.

If they have gotten the tick off, the disease is not there. Only if you let the tick go into your body, you will get limes disease.

Lyme disease is the worst, how ever not all ticks carry it and there are many different kinds of ticks.Even if he does contract it  i don't think its contagious.

No worries!!It takes time for lyme to set in.I was not bit there,but I was bit multiple more times other places,and I'm still alive.

Lyme disease is the worst OK if they catch it early though
