Contact prescription stronger each visit?

Contact prescription stronger each visit?

Every annual visit to the eye doctor to renew my contacts my eyes seem to need a little stronger prescription. It's not major just like -.25 more. I am 15, so are my eyes still growing or something? My right eye is -7.00 and left is -7.25, and I think they both need a little stronger prescription. Is it normal?

Yes, your eyes are normal at your age to require a stronger prescription annually.  Your eyes probably won't change as much in your 20s and 30s; but when you are 40ish, you will probably need bifocals.  I am 56 and just recently went to an opthamologist, and my nearsightedness and astigmatism had gotten better, but I need stronger bifocals (or they keep making the print smaller! LOL).  I commend you for having annual eye exams. and that you are taking good care of your eyes!

What you are describing is the norm.  You are not necessary GROWING in your eyes, but your eyes are CHANGING.  My eyes continued to get more and more near-sighted until about age 25.

This is why annual exam is important - beause they change.

Yes it is.  It took me almost 13 years before my eyes started to stay the same each year.

somewhat normal. At your age your eyes can change quite a bit and then stable out as you get older.
