Is this dumping syndrome?

Is this dumping syndrome?

i've just had my gall bladder removed last monday , and the first week of recovery was fine , i had no appetite but i ate as much as i could handle and had no pain. this week i have still got a very little appetite, but i'm trying to eat healthy. although, i have stomach pain at least once a day , and usually about and hour or 2 after eating , i get it again, before having to go make a large , painful bowel movement... i know this isn't regular for me and i am not eating a lot :

breakfast : sugar puffs

mid am : porridge and honey

1pm: banana , apple and orange with ryvita

5pm: fish or chicken with steamed veg

my diet hasn't changed that much since the surgery , and i normally will eat more.. it can't be the fruit , because i got up this morning , had breakfast and within half an hour i had terrible stomach pains..and bowel movements... the pain is there

is this normal ?

Hi Laura,

It could be the sugars in your diet.  A close relative has had gastric surgery and experiences this kind of problem too.

Cutting down on the sugary things does seem to help, along with smaller portions. ie, 6 small meals per day.

Also, it is very early days, although it is not want you want to hear, it does take time.

Good luck, I understand your concerns.
