URGET URGET ALL Dr.

Hi everyone, I am 12 years old and my cousins were playing with an elementary school aged neighbor on thursday outside on Thursday and Sunday she brok eout with the Chicken Pox =0! They both have been vaccined as a baby and they are now 1,3. I want to sleepover their house this week and i was wondering if i would get the chicken pox if i did? i would want to ssleep over from Thursday to Saturday. Is it to close with the nieghbor breaking out on Sunday. I know there is a 2 week incubation time but i really want to see my cousins but i would rather not have the chicken pox. None of us have had the chicken pox...yet. THANKS SOO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP :-)

If you're 12 years old, then you were probably vaccinated for varicella (chicken pox).  It would be unlikely that you get chicken pox from going over to their house and sleeping over, but you might want to have your mom check your vaccination record first.  If you've been vaccinated, then probably okay, if not....then stay away for a while.

Chicken pox becomes non-infectious when ALL vesicles have scabbed over.

if you see the bumps then its not contagious.....chicken pox are only contagious before the outbreak during the fever period.....youll be fine....however the chicken pox are miserable and i seriously doubt anyone would be up for entertaining company if they had them
