I recently started taking 10 mg a day for high bp, it was knocking me out (sleep) so I started the last two days splitting the pill 1/2 and 1/2 for the 1st and 2nd part of the day and did okay then.



I hard a higher heart rate last night, and woke several times with racing heart, and a fitful sleep, and then woke up at 6 and was feeling very ill and heart racing.



So I said, "Well, I just haven'ttaken my meds- " so I took 1/2 a pill.



Then my heart rate up even higher!  At one point I thought I'd pass out, so I'm stuck here with 3 kids an dnot a working car... so I broke down about 7 am and called an ambulance.



They got here, and I was ambulatory, and had taken a prescript narcotic to calm down and was okay, so they didn't even take vitals and just left.



I don't know of anything I did DIFFERENTLY- except that a weight loss shake I took had alot of potassium in it.



Could this be the problem?  The potassium?

Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor.



You should not have much potassium at all while on an ACE inhibitor.  This was more than likely the case.



Stay away from potassium.

Lose weight, don't eat late.  Potassium gives you energy.

10 mg. of WHAT?  (Amlodipine, Lisinopril, etc.?)  How long were you on it before the symptoms started?
