Help, wrist problem after injections..?

Help, wrist problem after injections..?

on 5/3, an emt hooked up an IV needle in my wrist where the radio-ulnar bone comes together with the hand on the inner side of the hand. at the hospital, i was given 2 morphines, 2 dialudids, and 2 fentanyl shots in that IV needle in my wrist.

there is still a mark showing the hole. about 2 weeks later, my wrist started to burn down towards my thumb. it's pretty annoying and sore.  you can feel what appears to be a cord underneath the injection site that moves all over if you touch it. i thought it was the vein. the doctor thinks that perhaps a tendon got hit by the needle and/or the nerve in my hand. he felt that cord move.  i had thought it was a vein. all that was suggested is to apply ice to it.  i have for the past week or so and it doesn't feel better.  i showed it to other medical people but they don't know.  any ideas how long this lasts?  what happened etc.?

Holy cow.  You ,must have been in some serious pain to get all that.  the burning sensation is definitely a nerve problem.  When a nerve is damaged, it will give a burning feeling.  I would say there was a lot of irritation due to either the needle or the medication.  I'm hospitalized a lot and once, an I'M needle hit the nerve in my hip.  At first, it burned so bad, I wanted to scream.  To this day, that area is numb and very sensitive to touch.  I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but it's real.  You need to have it looked at by a specialist.  Feel better.
