My 21 yr old son after wrestling could not see in left eye.

No damage to eye by looking at it. Doctor says that vision is blocked by blood forming behind the retina.  He wants to do surgery.

the doctor is right. the opthamologist will have to perform behind the eye retina surgery. he will probably use lazer to make small cut behind retnia;, yhen suction or drain the blood from the eye. this procedure is similar to having fluid drained from behind eyes---when pressure has build up from having glucoma. hope he gets better soon. dont worry--it will be alright.  good luck.

For starters, (I'm not trying to say your dumb), I hope the "doctor" is of the optometrist persuasion, Secondly, have the surgery done.
