What could this hard knot be?

What could this hard knot be?

I noticed that I have a hard knot on my thumb and I have no idea what it could be. It hurts sometimes when I move my thumb and if I press on it it hurts a lot. Any suggestions on what it might be?

could be a cyst or injury to a tendon.
