Why do we develop allergies?

Why do we develop allergies?

In my earlier years I could eat and drink what I wanted. Now if I eat some foods I get hives, or itchy hands. sometimes swelling of the lips. It's obvious that something triggers it, but why now (I'm 55) and not when you are younger.

Here is my take

1.)the use of anti-biotics has exploded in recent years altering the bodies bowel flora which leads to a leaky-gut

type condition and predisposes the person to be more prone to allergies.(not to mention all the anti-bacterial soaps currently being used which have a similar affect)

2.) repetitive eating is more common, repetitive eating exposes your immune system to one type of food over and over again and is a leading cause of allergies.

3.)CHEMICAL BURDEN environmental toxins, such as pesticides, some people are allergic to the pesticides used to grow the peanuts rather then the peanuts themselves, also the use of chemicals decreases the immune system.

4.)lack of breast feeding and bottle fed babies get twice the amount of food allergies, and also babies ex posed to certain foods such as peanuts way to early causes allergies later in life.

5.)Certain foods do not agree with people biologically or genetically for example most Chinese people are lactose intolerant because milk cows were not  raised in China and milk was not part of their ancestral diet,so they lack the lactase enzyme to break it down.

There is a defective gene that causes some people's immune systems to develop a very sensitive type of immune system cell called IgE antibody. IgE is "immunoglobulin E".

IgE in some people causes these immune systems to react

to some or all of the food proteins that are innocent to most people...but those with the IgE can get sick from.

IgE antibodies can even cause people to react to almost all chemicals, plants, and animals that usually are not harmful to most humans...from bee venom to pollen.

People with the most sensitive form of IgE can get analphylactic (extremely severe) reactions to things like peanuts...for example, if they just only smell the peanuts without eating them....they can develop worst allergic reactions still that require hospitalization...and without hospitalization...those reactions are always deadly.

there is an idea that its over like way way OCD kind of cleanliness that causes allergies because you white blood cells don't have anything to do so your white blod cells over react to something that adjitates the body

as we get older our bodies become less resiliant to external factors

allergies can be brought on by external factors, stress, menopause etc... etc... the list is endless

just be wary of what you eat and if you've serious concerns see a doctor
