Ok, I just found out my man's allergic to dust mites. I'm lookin' around my home and, although it's not "dirty", I can see quite a bit of dust. How do I get rid of all this dust and reduce the possibility of more health issues? I realize a "good" vacuum is needed, and I have a fairly new one, but must I purchase one of those mega expensive vacuums?



I understand I need to get rid of the carpet and put in wood flooring and leather sofas instead of the regular ones I have now. What can I do NOW that will help, before I can start these home remodel jobs?

I am also allergic to dust mites, but I dont need such drastic measures... I just vacuum regularly (with standard low cost Hepa vacuum), and change my bed sheets about every 2 days or so...  The old bed sheets is where I find I have the most issue...
