I was wondering what the odds are that I'm allergic? No one in my family is, nor is anybody in my entended family. Does that have anything to do with it? And can I get tested?

allergies can be hereditary you know....and sometimes they can totally get worse from one generation to the next....

i think it's highly improbable that you're allergic to bee stings... however if you're really bugged about it, you can get tested...just see an allergist...they make skin tests of different substances that you can be allergic too...

I'm freaked out about bees too...but Ive never been stung. my dads allergic and as far as i know his parents are not... allergies are a tricky thing...but if its through heredity it could be heterozygous or homozygous if both parents have a gene that could produce the allergy there is a 25% chance and if only one parent has the gene that could cause it there is no chance you'll have the allergy but if no parents have it there is no chance you'll have it, unless the allergy is not hereditary.
